I have had this for 5 years. Typically I use it 4 or 5 times a year for snowfalls of less than 5 inches of slushy heavy snow. This year we have had 5 storms, one of 30 inches, one of 20 inches, three of 5 to 10 inches. Needless to say we have hit our all time record snowfall... One of the smaller storms was slushy.
Every time it snows I clear our 100 foot double wide driveway, an elderly neighbor's driveway, and about a mile of sidewalks in our subdivision.
It is a great machine, it is light enough to move around, but not so big in the garage. It is the smallest two stage thrower than Ariens makes. Small in size, but still high in quality. It always starts, it always works. It has an all steel chute, heavy duty metal parts. It is not feature laden. There is no light, the chute is all manual, but it works well. It is a high quality simple machine that is still on its original belts and friction drive disk -- all considered replacement parts.
Only one fault... when it is warm... above 35... the drive is starting to slip a little bit, which results in the unit slowing down. It is probably time to replace the friction disk this spring.
